From: john on 18 Jul 2010 01:01 Luxury brands Porsche, Jaguar, BMW and Mercedes-Benz captured the top four spots. Higher-priced vehicles score higher, primarily because they are larger, more comfortable, faster and have more features, said David Sargent, J.D. Power vice president of global vehicle research. Cadillac slid from third to 10th. Buick edged up from 14th to 13th. http://www.freep.com/article/20100715/BUSINESS01/100715036/1210/BUSINESS01/U.S.-automotive-brands-outpace-rivals-in-new-J.D.-Power-survey

Regardless of JD Powers scoring - I am very happy I bought a 2010 Toyota Prius III over a Porsche, Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Cadillac, or Buick. Because I am usually stuck in traffic jams - being faster is not really an advantage for my commute. The most important feature to me are high city mpg, a decent radio, and a good air conditioner which the Prius III does have. There are time - I wish I got the leather seats --but I needed an affordable car. Porsche, Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Cadillac don't make affordable cars so I would never considered them regardless of what their JD Power's score happens to be. At one point I was thinking about getting a 2010 Honda Insight - but the strong Prius community/user group swayed me back to getting a Prius. |
